I could watch this movie again and again (and have!) The way Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones play off each other in this movie is great! Great comic timing. It is an imaginative and fun-filled, yet somewhat gross at the same time! The giant alien bug in the "Edgar suit" - as the movie progresses you see his skin decay more and more. I liked this movie so much better that Men in Black 2. This movie just had so much more pizazz to it. Better writing, better storyline. I highly recommend this movie and you don't necessarily have to be a sci-fi fan to enjoy it either.

What could be more terrible than watching a SILLY, IDIOTIC movie like this one? This film is nothing more than a whole lot of RUBBISH. It is NOT like real life. There are NO such things as aliens. Anyone who believes in aliens is a COMPLETE IDIOT. Firstly, the aliens had human disguises, like robots. This really BROUGHT IT DOWN. One of the aliens was so tiny that he could only live in the head of the human. To be more precise, the alien was inside the brain of the man who he was controlling. This was so IMMATURE. And what about the alien who landed on Planet Earth WITHOUT PERMISSION? He killed a man called Edgar and put on Edgar`s skin as a disguise! This was NOT a good thing to do because Edgar`s wife, Beatrice, could see that it was NOT the real Edgar. When Beatrice was interviewed by Kay and Jay, she said, 'I KNOW Edgar, and whoever came back into the house was NOT Edgar. It was someone WEARING HIM: like a suit.' Anyone who was clever would`ve been able to tell that this was an alien wrapped up in a dead person`s skin. My brother made up a HORRIBLE story about one of the teachers from the high school of which we went to (The teacher does not work at the school anymore). He told me that this teacher was a robot invented by a different ex-teacher, which is DEFINITELY FALSE. My brother said that the ex-teacher lived inside the teacher. When the teacher took a week off school, my brother told me it was because the ex-teacher had to get the teacher repaired. This was a LIE because the teacher was NOT a robot. I was VERY ANGRY with my brother for making up this STUPID story about the teacher who I had always enjoyed spending time with. You see, the teacher was one of my FAVOURITE teachers! She had such GOOD NATURE that anyone would`ve recognized her as a REAL PERSON...NOT a robot. The Men In Black were all called after LETTERS OF THE ALPHABET! This meant that there could only be 26 Men In Black at any time! This does NOT make sense because when one to the members left, he was replaced by someone with a DIFFERENT NAME. D was replaced with J. K was replaced with L, who was the first woman to have this job. Also, the men in black carried a neuralizer, which they used to neuralize other people`s memories about the aliens. This was VERY SILLY because the other people COULD HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT THE ALIENS IN THEIR DIARIES! When Beatrice was interviewed about her husband, K neuralized her memory. It was a silly thing to do because the NEWSPAPER said, "Alien STOLE MY HUSBAND`S SKIN". This meant that members of the public knew all about the incident. Surely Beatrice would have needed to know about her husband because she would have put him FIRST in her life. What about the scene where the alien who stole Edgar`s skin attacks Laurel? When J points his gun towards the alien, Laurel is thinking that he is going to attack her. J was actually trying to kill the ALIEN who was BEHIND Laurel. J was trying to SAVE LAUREL`S LIFE. This film is way TOO SCARY for children! My parents took me to see this film at the cinema when I was only about 10 years old...and I found the film TOO FRIGHTENING. I was crying & yelling all through the movie. This film gave me TERRIBLE NIGHTMARES! It took me a long time to recover from this movie. I may not be an expert at giving films ratings according to the age they`re suitable for, but I think that it was a SERIOUS MISTAKE to say that this a general viewing with a few scenes that might be unsuitable for kids. If you ask me, I will say that this is DEFINITELY NOT suitable for children. Above all, do NOT allow your children to watch this film: it will give them nightmares!

As some know I didn't like this one but loved the 2nd. It's hard for people to understand or for me to explain but frankly this wasn't great to me. To me it seemed as if Smith was trying too hard with his lines and didn't catch a groove. Tommy did just fine but I felt the special effects could've been better. Plus the whole woman parts just annoyed the heck out of me. Just this one instance when the alien's half body is heading to them to eat them and she picks up the gun to shoot it. Well gee why not warn them ahead of time rather than pick up the weapon and wait till the last second to shoot? Exactly my point.

Then at the farm, another alien arrives from the sky, and one of the people get eaten by it. This person became a monster inside a human skin. Then when Jay and Kay fights the monster person, the monster emerges from the skin, eats up the gun, and Jay went inside to kill the monster with the gun.

There are thousands of aliens walking the planet without us knowing about it? Really? Most of them live in New York? Oh, well, that makes sense. I love New York, and one of the reasons why is, simply, walking down the street I glance from face to face and half expect to see hinges on the human-suits. Will Smith is genuinely funny here, before black jokes took over his sense of humor. He looks terrific in the suit provided by MIB, too. Tommy Lee Jones, oposite Smith, is drier than a piece of burnt toast and couldn't be more hilarious. The less emotion he shows, the harder we laugh. He's either mildly annoyed or slightly amused through the entire film. And, of course, Vincent D'Onofrio is terrific. Here's an all-too-rare peek into the funnier side of D'Onofrio. His voice /is/ decomposition as Edgar Suit rots. It's great.

Great pair-up - Men in Black Reviews

Almost as good as Redford and Newman. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones have an incredible relationship. Jones' stoic one-liners and his love of Elvis are wonderful. Will Smith is the street smart young cop with an attitude that becomes a galaxy smart cop with an attitude. Lots of humor and "buddy" spots. Truly one of the better movies around.

Besides, the visual effects are flawless proving valuable to the action sequences which also carry a bit of your daily dose of comedy! Men In Black is actually based on the secret underground government agency which supposedly functions unknown to the general public. These men with black suits have been spotted dozens of times and critics say the govt. is indeed running a top-secret agency which is in touch with extra terrestials. No one knows the actual truth, but this movie beautifully showcases this secret agency and their primary motive - "to protect the earth from the scum of the universe." Anyway I had seen this movie before; like a couple of years ago! But still wouldn't get bored to watch it again. Totally worth your time!

I enjoyed this movie a lot, but the whole time i was watching it, my only thought was, "where did Sonnenfeld come up with this stuff?" i mean, the whole idea is just kinda off the wall. But it made for a great story line. THe acting was wonderful in this movie. Tommy Lee Jones did a great job playing the serious but lovable agent Kay, while Will Smith did a hilarious and outstanding job as the not-so-serious agent Jay. Put the two together and... Bam! Movie magic. THis movie was highly entertaining and fun. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

At first glance, MEN IN BLACK is an exaggerated lampoon of every wacky conspiracy theory you have ever heard: Yes, UFO's do land -- and, sometimes crash! -- on the on the earth; the world is run by a handful of shadowy power-brokers; Elvis is still alive; and alien babies are born, every day. In fact, The National Enquirer and the Weekly World News are to those in the know what The New York Times and The Newshour with Jim Lehrer are to the ersatz erudite. The basic comic idea of MEN IN BLACK is a very funny one; that extraterrestrials walk among us, and that this explains the all-encompassing quirkiness of our lives. So...that's why Dennis Rodman...and -- that explains New York! The movie, whose hip homages to its crypto-occult topics is reminiscent of GHOST BUSTERS, is also tender with its characters. At a distant, secondary or even tertiary level, it tries to draw a parallel between space aliens, and immigrants who come to America, surreptitiously making the point that we do, in fact, live in a world made possible by aliens (they serve our meals and park our cars). It's a Good-Ole'-USA theme, with Smith, the all-American, as its principal salesman. But, you should not see MEN IN BLACK to dispel the misconception that aliens are to be distrusted. If you see this movie with such aims in mind, you may be disappointed. Just see MEN IN BLACK to dispel the heaviness surrounding the subject of aliens (all kinds) with a bit of levity and fun. Based on the comic book series of the same name, "Men In Black" is a fun and entertaining movie with lots of comedic bits that will make all ages laugh. Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith portray Men In Black agents known only as "J" (Smith), a former NY City police officer, and the veteran Man In Black, "K" (Jones). "K" recruits "J" for service with the ultra-secret organization that works above the law and government that police extra-terristrial activity on Earth after "J" easily runs down an agile alien who was being chased by him and obviously out of shape NYPD officers. Just outside New York City, a ship crashes, and the alien takes the form of the wife abusing farmer. "J" and "K" are ordered to investigate the crash and learn that the alien is a highly dangerous species called a "Bug" (Vincent D'Onofrio). The two then are ordered to investigate the murders of a jeweler, who is actually a royal alien, and his companion. The two arrive at the NYC City Morgue, where they find, along with a morgue worker (Linda Fiorentino), that one of the murdered is actually a tiny alien inside a robot. Just before he dies, the alien, who has a loyal pet cat that will not leave him, tells "J" and the morgue worker that "the galaxy is on Orion's belt." "J" and "K" have to find the galaxy, which the "bug" is also searching for, as a warship from the dead royal's planet enters orbit around Earth - or the alien ship will destroy Earth. The special effects are excellent, but, like most computer generated characters, they don't look real. The puppets built for many scenes are slightly better, though they also don't look like living creatures. The acting is campy much of the time, but that is by design. Smith, and especially Jones are fantastic in their roles. I found D'Onofrio amusing as the "Bug," but he just doesn't come across as an evil alien who does not care for other creatures, and Fiorentino comes across as a bit too serious most of the time when the mood is lighter. The movie is an excellent movie for the entire family, with only a sprinkling of strong language that may offend some.
